Hola! My name is Mercedes Munoz, I am a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences studying Psychology with a minor in Education. I was born and raised in El Paso, Texas and have enjoyed finding my home away from home on BU’s campus. Outside of Alianza Latina, I am a Senior Research Intern at the Social Learning Lab studying how children’s social interactions impact their cognitive development. My research interests focus on bias development and cultural identity development. I am incredibly excited to be a part of the executive board of Alianza Latina along with such amazing and hardworking individuals. I can’t wait for y’all to see what we have in store this semester, see you on Tuesday.

¡Hola todos! My name is Aile Cheng and I am currently a sophomore in the College of General Studies. As a freshman, I studied abroad in London this past summer. I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and I currently live in Brooklyn, NY. I love traveling and learning about new cultures. I’m hoping to study abroad again soon in the future. For now, I plan to major in Public Relations as I continue into the College of Communication and possibly minor in Political Science in the College of Arts & Sciences. I am so excited to be AL’s secretary this year. If you ever see me around campus, don’t hesitate to say hello!
Community Outreach Director
Hello! My name is Grace Ochoa, I am a junior in the College of Arts and Science majoring in Math and Computer Science. I am from South Plainfield, New Jersey and my parents are from Ecuador! I am Alianza Latina’s Community Outreach Director and I cannot wait to meet the newest members of this year’s Hermanos Program! The Hermanos Program is the heart of Alianza Latina, it is our very own mentorship program! Besides Alianza Latina, I am very involved on campus. You can catch me dancing with Sabor Latino or promoting the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers!
Public Relations Chair
Hey, I’m Sebastian Arango. I’m a sophomore in COM majoring in Public Relations so I guess it’s only fitting that I am AL’s PR chair for this year! I’m originally from Chelsea, MA but I live in Peabody and Revere as of right now. I basically run all of AL’s social media accounts and create posters for each event, not to mention I get to create merchandise that all of you can wear. I feel as though I can express myself through art so if I’m not working on something AL related, I’m working on my craft.
